Hi, i faced same issue, i just changed my postpaid plan, even i checked with customer care that there are no charges for post paid plan changes. But still they applied data proration charges. I am fed up with this. this people are really making fool o[censored]s.

how it will be correct? ..You have no where mentioned that if i use topup of 3g ..my 250 mb will be pro-rationed and also if that is the case you people should have restricted me for per day basis instead you allowed me to use 250mb. This is unfair and unethical.

Just received Charges Data pack Pro-ration # 674.60..this was after adding 1Gb data pack in the middle of the month..the notification of pro ration were provided but the charges applicable as pro ration was not.This is a deliberate attempt to increase the billing amount by mentioning 'pro ration charge' and not the actual amount. i would have never subscribed to the data pack if i knew the pro ration charge applicable will be more than my actual monthly bill.
i would request your company to disclose the amount during such charges at the very moment the customer is planning to subscribe to any such or services.It would be extremely convenient for us as not to open the bill and see a surprise amount. And help to restore your consumers trust.

[protected]. i just want to know that what is data proration? i was using 2g internet pack in the half of month i got a call from ur customer care nd they offered me 3g pack in 125 rs. So i accepted it. After a day of activation i got a message that ur credit limit is over and my services were barred. Now i got my bill details in which the data proration charge is mentioned of 1400+ rupees. i just want to ask u that do u hv right to charge more from ur customer without giving any information?? it is ridiculous . i jst want to port. i have 3 numbers of idea in my family now i m porting them too.

I have also complaint regarding Pro-ration.
But don't think you will solve this problem.
Now thinking to Port to different vendor. You dont require customers and making fool to them by charging like anything.

Same complaint. I have received extra Rs 1168 as "Charges on Data Pack Pro-ration".
IDEA Cellular better do something about these complaints. Otherwise people are going to use the Number portability option.

I have also been charged for 799 rs for the same reason. It just another way to fool people. You Know what Idea you really S**ks. That is why i ported out my number. And you did the this to me in my last bill. 6 months of Idea experience is so frustrating and irritating.

I had changed my data plan midway during a billing cycle and received 800/- proration charges . My only concern is why can't they specify the total charges while changing plans and only when the bill is generated. Very bad service . Hidden costs everywhere ! I thought idea was the best in business
GENTLE REMINDER . Going through all the complaints by customers on data pro ration i would like to put my thaughts into. I have been charged for data pro ration and the amount is 5000 rs. This is after i terminated my number a month ago. They then generated a bill amount of 413. Now more than a month later i am recieving a mail saying to pay 5k for data pro ration. Seriously are the owners of idea so bankrupt that they are so desperate to pull money out of customers. Nowhere it is mentioned that data pro ration will be charged. The most pathetic things is the idea customer service. While adding extra data pack no body mentioned about data pro ration. The level of cheapness is in its height for you idea people. Get an idea for yourself first. I wont pay that 5k. Cheap network. I would make sure all your social networking sites are filled with this pro ration thing. Let everyone know what actual idea is.

I too had the BAD experience. I subscribed for i-plan 999. I made a adjustment in the data/call subscription within the same plan. As a shock, I got a extra amount of Rs 5000 in my bill saying data pro-ration.
I called the customer service and could not get any reasonable answer.
They says all stupid explanations. The bill is almost 4 times the actual amount.

Yes IDEA is just making fool. No real answer or solution in which they are interested in. And they are smart legally. So I feel better approach is ban them and make others aware of situation so that they will not suffer the same fate.

If they want they can resolve it by converting in to data packs. But they just want to take away our money because we are trapped. They are not willing to give any solution.

Shockingly i got the bill of 2999.09 with Charges on Data Pack Pro-ration # as the major contributor of rupees 2, 029.48 + service tax etc.
Nowhere it is mentioned in the documents.
