Income Tax Department — elay in reissue of pan card no afgpg4674k

Dear sir/madam,

As my above mentioned pan card has become old and worn out, i had applied for a fresh card to be re-issued way back in february'17. I applied through the it appointed vendor thepancard.com online.

Some months later i received a communication from the it department that there were 2 pan cards in my name and as a result my much used card (I have been giving returns since the year 2000-01), as mentioned above, was de-activated.

I did not know what to do or whom to approach. I then went to the it dept website and and discovered that indeed, there were 2 pan cards in my name, although i had no clue prior to this.

Then in the month of july (05/07/17) i received a copy of a letter from the it dept that was addressed to the it officer, ward-4 (3) (1), bengaluru, requesting him to deactivate the unused pan card and activate the card for which an application was pending. Also, he was asked to inform the vendor accordingly.

Until last week, as no action was taken i went across to ward-4 (3) (1) on the 12th of december'17 and met mr. Subbarao gururaj, the officer concerned.
I showed him my copy of the letter issued by assistant director (Systems) to which he immediately instructed an inspector sitting outside his office to do the needful.
I received confirmation from her that the change had been made in the income tax system and i would received an intimation soon.

I have been checking with the vendor almost on a daily basis and i regret to inform you that till date my card remains inactive. The vendor needs to receive an approval to re-issue my card.

Meanwhile i am receiving reminders to link my pan card with various other cards/numbers and as this situation is completely out of my control i am not able to link anything now.
