Complaint marked as Resolved My Trip was successful and the money of my friend was refunded.
But there is a long story for it.
My ship was on Saturday and i got the tickets only on Friday noon. And they hired a local agent on Andaman only on Thursday morning (the day i arrived). Along with me there were two other members who booked the package but with cabin class for a higher price. The local agent was a nice guy (www.andamantrek.com). As Mariappan gave the money on last day, the Havelock tickets were sold out and we had to opt for Baratang (it was nice tho). My Flight was on Sunday and the ticket was booked on Saturday eve.
May be i am one of the lucky guys who could complete the trip.
Regarding my friends refund, Mariappan gave us a cheque (which i would suggest you to get from him), but the cheque bounced three times continuously.But we got the money during the 4th time. Again luck was with us. I would never suggest anyone to book trips from this agent.
For Andaman, please book tickets seperately and find a local agent at Andaman, For Lakshadweep, there is an operator in Kerala (whom i think is good, but not sure). And for premium packages, book alone or from a registered agency after research and reading reviews.
Mariappan is operating under the name SM tourism in koyambedu. If you are still facing the issue of refund it s better to take a trip to Chennai, meet him and get the cheque.
I Pratap Thorat was booked 3 tickets for andman and transfer 10650. They will not transfer our money against cancellation i think its fraud agency. Govt should look into this.
