Indian Railways — allotment of berths
I have booked 18 tickets from vizianagaram to shalimar in visakhapatnam shalimar express on[protected] to travel on[protected]Exactly 120 days prior to the travel) i gave an application to the station master to allow group ticketing for my son's wedding. All the tickets were issued, but to my astonishment 11 berths were alloted in b2 coach and 7 were alloted in b1 coach, that too all upper, side upper and middle berths. 8 senior citizens and a mother with an infant are there in our group. Immediately, i booked 6 more tickets online. Again i got all upper and middle berths. Quite disgusting! When i spoke to some frequent travellers and travel agents, i came to know that railway is holding almost all lower berths to for sale to thathkal and rac passengers. Booking tickets with a great planning well in advance is absolutely of no use. Was this information helpful?
