Khaitan — Non replacement of faulty fan under warranty/ No refund - Khaitan 52" Fantasy Premium Heritage

It is extreme frustration and deep regret on buying a Khaitan product (Khaitan 52" Fantasy Premium Heritage Ceiling Fan) what I feel as I am writing this e-mail. The product was bought for a price of Rs.6895 from Snapdeal (0rder # [protected]) delivered on Feb 14, 2014. The product was installed on Feb 21st and it was found that the fan would not work. The under lights would come on but the fan motor was not rotating. a complaint was registered in Khaitan's customer care (toll free no[protected] with the complaint no (479140). A technician visited my place on 27/02/2014 and he could not resolve the problem concerning the fan. He asked me to contact Mr. Baburao regarding the next step. On contacting Mr. Baburao, he told that a technician from Khaitan will come over and have a look since the fan was not a common ceiling fan model. The technician from Khaitan visited on 06/03/2014 and he could not repair the fan too, According to him the fan had to be replaced. I talked to Mr. Baburao and he told me to entrust the technician with the invoice/bill and he will initiate the replacement. I asked him about the existing fan being taken away on which he replied that the fan will be taken when the new one comes. Mr.Baburao told me that at maximum the new fan will be installed at my place within 5 days (by 12/03/2014). I waited till 13/03/2014 after which I called Mr.Baburao and asked about the replacement fan. He told me to wait for one more day and the unit was already shipped from Kolkata. From then till date it has been the same story till now. The unit is still in transit and has not reached Bangalore, making me wonder if somebody is hand carrying the same walking all the way from Kolkata till Bangalore. Repeated calls to customer care since 22/03/2014 results in me repeating the whole story again, getting a couple of apologies and promises that the higher management will call within the next hour. No calls have been received from anybody in Khaitan's higher management yet. I gave a call to Mr.Ramesh (supposed to be the in charge for South zone) and got no response from him as well. This situation 1) Prompts me to buy a new fan (definitely of a different company than Khiatan) - It is getting hotter in Bangalore and it is quite difficult to manage without a fan 2) Post a copy of this mail along with other details on all leading consumer forums on the net 3) File a case against Khaitan for not replacing a fault product under warranty, cheating, giving false promises and mental harassment .
