[Resolved]  Kolkata Traffic Police — incorrect traffic violation fine

This is to bring to your notice that On 04/09/2019 I've been given an Incorrect Traffic Violation Charge by Kolkata Traffic Police Sergeant Purnendu Goswami. Though unintentionally, I missed a No Entry Board near Alipore RTO Exit gate. I admitted my negligence and stopped my vehicle immediately when I realized my mistake. My vehicle speed was less than 15 km/hr and I was in complete control of my vehicle. Even after informing that I am new in that road (Alipore too congested) and my final Driving License test on that day Instead of charging me Rs.300/- under Penal Section 177 (Driving vehicles in violation of Mandatory Traffic Signs), I was charged Rs.1000/- under Penal Section 184 (Driving dangerously) and cease my Smart Card, unfortunately I paid the amount.

I have 3 questions:

1. Do you think a vehicle speeding less than 15 km/ph. be tagged as "Dangerous Driving"?
2. Does the traffic officer Sergeant Purnendu Goswami have the right to mend and bend the definition of "DANGEROUS DRIVING"?
3. Will he (Sergeant Purnendu Goswami) continue the same malpractice and make my city look ugly?

I am from middle class family and Rs. 1000/- too much for me.

I am a law-abiding citizen and want to see an Accident Free city of Kolkata. I ensure that by playing my part of keeping my vehicle under the permissible speed limit and not violating any rule as my driving record suggests.
