Lenovo — Lenovo Tab not working

I have an Idea pad A2107A. the serial no isXDO1359488.I purchased it on 25.08.13 under the name of Meetu Bajaj.Now it is not charging .It is showing loose connection and sometimes it takes charge and sometimes it is not.I went to service center but the company is telling that it cannot be covered within warranty period as this is considered to be external damage.But how is it possible there is no problem in the socket and the motherboard is not taking charge then how can it be external damage???????????
