Dear Lufthansa Customer Support,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate situation I encountered while booking my recent tickets with Lufthansa. I booked the tickets for the following itinerary:
Booking code:SEXT5N : Edinburgh to Frankfurt to Munich and to Bangalore, with travel dates 24/11/2023 and 24/02/2024.
Booking code:SHHDB7: Edinburgh to Frankfurt to Munich and to Bangalore, with travel dates 24/11/2023 and 30/12/2023.
During the booking process on your website, there was no mention of the requirement for a transit visa for Indian passport holders when transiting through Germany. However, after making the booking, I learned through other sources that a transit visa is mandatory for Indian passport holders at Germany.
Unfortunately, getting a transit visa appointment in Edinburgh, where I am currently located, has proved to be an extremely challenging and time-consuming process. I have made several attempts to secure an appointment, but there are no available slots before my scheduled departure date.
Given the circumstances, I have no alternative but to request a complete refund of the amount I paid for the tickets. I believe it is essential to emphasize that the lack of information about the transit visa requirement during the booking process was not my fault, as it was not mentioned anywhere on your website.
I kindly request your understanding and support in resolving this matter promptly. As a loyal Lufthansa customer, I trust that you will take my situation into consideration and provide the necessary assistance to process the refund.
Thank you for your attention to this issue, and I look forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,
Naveen Balakrishna
