Mahindra And Mahindra — Disgusting Quality with the new XUV700 that got delivered....

This is with respect to the new XUV 700 Top variant AX7L that got delivered last week (vehicle no : M6J12208).

Primarily decided to go in for this vehicle becoz of the Mahindra's brand reputation with SUV vehicles plus the features that got offered with this vehicle. In fact, that is also one of the basic reasons why i didnt hesitate in going for the luxury variant though it comes with an additional cost of 2 Lakhs on top of the AX7 variant.

But, looks like all my dreams and expectations were put in vain with the quality of outcome that is exhibited with this vehicle.

Hardly within a day or two, the flush door handles are not working properly. Though the vehicle is centrally locked (with all the doors properly latched), one of the flush handle is just popping out. Dont know for what reason, but this is really irritating.

The boot door is not closing properly and there is a continuous alert on the instrument panel saying the door is not closed. When i tried to check on this with the dealer (Zulaikha Motors Chennai), he is just blabbering saying that is not an issue and the panel will just beep or prompt sometimes like that. This clearly shows that the dealer doesnt have any knowledge on the functions or the behavior. Will something be designed in such a way to erratically popup and show false alerts like this? I believe this should be an inherent bug with the underlying software/hardware.

Really irritating with the quality outcome of this new vehicle after paying such an hefty amount for this vehicle. Not sure whether these features has been exhaustively tested and verified before launching the vehicle.

More importantly, there was has been plenty of teasers and advises to go in for genuine Mahindra accessories for the vehicle. But, it is becoming a nightmare even to get some basic accessories like the floor mats for which the dealer is bugging saying most of the accessories are not available. If that is the real situation, what is the point in advising to go for genuine Mahindra accessory? Dont we have proper stock of the accessories for this new vehicle at this stage itself?

This also almost proves the sayings from many corners that it is highly risky in going for a newly launched vehicle. But, I had personally taken a call and booked this vehicle based on the confidence that i had with Mahindra's brand which seems to prove futile.

Here is a quick update on the current status with respect to the hassles being faced with the new XUV700:

The technician from the dealer came to visit and investigate on the issues last Saturday (11Dec). Appreciate the attitude and the diligence of this service personnel as he was able to patiently listen to the issues and also helped to explain the features offered with this top variant.

Whereas, the biggest annoying factor what we had come across on 11Dec was that the vehicle could not be started itself when the service personnel requested to start the vehicle. He was also taken for a surprise and enquired me when I had last driven the vehicle. I told him that i had taken the vehicle last on 06Dec only for a short drive (as I was not in a position to enjoy the real pleasure of the new vehicle becoz of the issues). Only then got to know from the service personnel that the vehicle couldn't start as the battery got drained completely. It doesnt have the power to ignite the engine. I got really shocked as it was really disgusting to see the battery getting drained with such a new vehicle. Then the service personnel helped out to jump start the vehicle. Can you justify on how come the battery could get drained in a new vehicle within 4 days? Looks like there is an inherent issue with this vehicle. Not sure whether it is meant for a demo or test vehicle which has been handed over to the customer like me.

The service personnel could also see the issue with the boot door closing and the alerts that were caused becoz of it. In addition to that, he also observed the big deep scratch below the front grill with which the vehicle got delivered. He indicated that he will fix a slot sometime this week to take this vehicle to the service center to diagnose on the battery and boot door issues and also to paint the area below the grill to get rid of the scratch damage.

Honestly speaking, I am not at all convinced with the issues being observed in such a new vehicle that too from a reputed brand like Mahindra. This has really taken away all my peace of mind and instead of enjoying with the new vehicle, I am totally frustated and almost killing myself day by day on whether i had taken a bad decision in my life in going for this vehicle. I am really not able to face my family members for the decision that i had taken in going for this vehicle though they all insisted to go only for Toyota Innova.

It would be a blessing in disguise if you could take this vehicle back and refund my hard-earned money so that i dont end up killing myself for the guilty feeling towards the decision from my end in going for this vehicle.
