[Resolved]  Maruti Alto — Claim of big amount and theft from car

I am an owner of Alto Lxi car No. KL 21B 4230. I am working as a Research Officer in State Council for Educational Research and Training, Thiruvananthapuram. I have a complaint against Hercules Automobiles, Vazhayila, Thiruvananthapuram regarding service of my vehicle. I visited the showroom on 18.10.13 and had my vehicle serviced for 30000 kms even though the km was 29262. The previous day of the travel I heard a sound from the left side. To make sure that there is no complaint I asked the service assistant to verify and report me the complaint. He informed me over phone that there are so many problems and all together it cost 16, 000 rupees. After a discussion we came to a conscience that some work can be kept pending (about 8000 rupees). On the delivery day I was in a huge hurry that I did not go through the bill (what they gave was a retail invoice) in detail. Last day they informed me of the service and today morning they took my vehicle for service. When I was removing the old papers in the car, I happened to see the so called bill which they gave on October. I carefully went through it and in detail. I studied that the items replaced amounted to Rs 1626 and labour cost was 6022. I was wondered. I contacted some of my friends over phone and came to understand that the 30000 km service will not exceed 5000 rupees at any cost. I contacted some other sales managers too. They were also surprised. Till last year I had my service in Indus which I was fully satisfied. Not even a single time I had to place a complaint. I contacted the service consultant in Indus and he too was unpleasant to hear the amount claimed. One of my friends who is a teacher, on a discussion, informed me that this agency gives sweet words and offers for which we will be trapped on the first visit. On subsequent visits we will be by all means ‘trapped’. With all these information collected, I waited for the Hercules consultant’s call this morning. As expected I received the call by 10.40 am. He enquired me whether the vehicle had a complaints, for which I told ‘no’. Then the consultant informed me that the vehicle had the same complaints which were rectified the previous time. I patiently heard all his crookedness. At last I told him that these were the complaints that were rectified last time. He told me it has to be repeated once in 5000 kms. I told that I have run the car only 3400 kms after that. I asked for the cost. He told me it will cost 7000 rupees for the whole work. He wanted to complete some of the pending works that were left last time. That means the 30000 km service will at last cost 15000 rupees. I told him not to do anything. As the vehicle was taken to the garage, I asked him to wash my vehicle and give it back. He again asked me whether he should do a general checkup for which he will charge only 600 rupees. That means all together 960 rupees. I roughly asked him to wash the vehicle and return it. He returned the vehicle by 4’o clock for which he charged 337 rupees. It is said that Hercules Automobiles charges more amount than the rest companies in the city. Take necessary action to regulate this inauspicious attempt. Or else I may propagate the message through my facebook for which I have at least 2500 friends. 23.3.2014 I did not get your call but only two missed rings on that day.
