Maruti Suzuki India — jaisalmer services drove car without fan

I dropped my car into jaisalmer services due to the fact that the fan was not working. Now i am told that the whole engine needs to be replaced as the service team tested the engine without checking that the fan wasn't working still. I have been told by cs jaipur initially that they wanted me to pay 1/3 towards the new engine which i refused now they say it is my fault and i need to pay the whole amount.
