Max Healthcare — overcharging and cheating customers/hooligan type behaviour by billing/tpa staff | |||||
Subject-extra money charged by max super speciality hospital, vaishali My father was admitted in emergency on 22.05.2018 at max hospital vaishali. I have a tpa through vidal. My concern is with the wrong billing by max staff and their rude behaviour. My tpa approved an amount of rs 84350 inr and asked me to pay 17247 inr (Copay + deductions) directly to hospital. Despite several discussions the hospital however forced me to pay for 19254.26 inr instead of 17247 inr. I tried to make them speak to my tpa team however they were reluctant to come on the phone. After several discussions i managed to connect them to tpa desk but they still did not agree to the tpa suggestions. Person at billing desk was very rude and shouted at my wife and me. When i told him that i would raise a complaint, he said pl complain to whomsoever you want to but we will not refund the extra amount. This is tantamount to cheating. I am forced to pursue a legal recourse against the hospital because of this erratic behaviour. They had done the same financial irregularity when my dad was hospitalized in the same hospital in jan'18. That time they had accepted that they did a fraud in calculation and revised the calculation right in front of me. I did not raise a formal complaint then because they apologized to me.
