Respected Sir/Ma'am,
I got phone call from person name Disha Sharma to enquire about my policy premiums and removal of agent code. As part of agent deactivation process from my max life insurance policy to stop sending bonus and commission to agent, they verified my policy number and date of birth details along with premium details. Then they created fake complaint number and file number pretending as complaint is raised in jeevan bima lokpal kendra.
Then I received another phone call from BIMA kendra officer named Amit Verma, asking me to fill the application and forward other relevant documents to his whatsapp number like:
1.Address Proof
2.ID Proof
3.Passport size photo
4.Cancelled Cheque
The caller said that to deactivate agent code they will need to create dummy policy and for that will need to pay my premium amount in that policy which will be refunded in 45 days after generation of customer code and deactivation of agent code.Also they mention not to share any information of file number or complaint number with other local agents.
When I replied them that I cannot send documents on personal mobile number and will need official email ID, they were hesitant and that time I became suspicious of the complete matter. I did check the numbers in true caller and both numbers were reported as Spams.
Below are my concerns:
1. How did my personal details(Name, Phone, DOB) get into hands of incorrect person. Are these details shared with any third party without my consent?
2. Also, how my policy details(Policy Number, Premium, etc) get disclosed?
I feel this is major threat to the details that have been provided to company with trust that it does not go out and will be confidential. Was this information helpful? |
