I got a call today from Max Life Insurance and he said that company is about to release commission to my agent and this commission can be credited to my account as well. For this I have to create an investment policy in Max Life for 31, 350/- which I can cancel after 90 days.
I was suspicious and aksed some queries and they answered them all. And they also had my policy number, due date, mobile number, dob etc. So I started believing them.
They asked me to provide 4 documents along with some personal information:
- Aadhar card (front and back)
- PAN card
- Cancelled cheque
- A photo of mine from head to toe
After giving these documents they asked me some personal details which I gave.
Then they told me that I'll receive a call from Max Life Insurance and I'll have to ask them to create an investment policy of 31, 350/- and mention the plan name to be "Savings Advantage". At this point I got suspicious and started searching about it on the internet and I found one link https://www.maxlifeinsurance.com/customer-service/protect-your-policy
On this page it has written "You can take a new policy and all the commission which is given to your agent in the old policy will be transferred to your account".
Thus I got to know that it was all a scam. After it I got a call from a person claiming from Max Life Insurance and he asked if I want to create an insurance plan to which I replied that I don't want to now and hung up.
It's good that I haven't paid anything to anyone. But the bad thing is that I have provided the 4 documents and some personal information to them and I don't know how they can misuse it.
Below details are of fraudsters:
- [protected] (Rahul Bansal)
- [protected] (Vikas Sharma)
- [protected] (Vikas Sharma) - WhatsApp number where they asked for documents
So, please advise me what steps I should take further to prevent any fraud from my shared documents?
Please let me know if you need any information from me such as policy number or mobile number to resolve this.
