MSRDC — Double toll charged despite of sufficient balance in FASTAG account

On 7-Apr-2023, I was travelling to Pune from Mumbai. At Talegaon toll naka, the scanner of FASTAG was having a technical error. It was showing 'Low Balance'. The toll person asked me to pay in cash. While, accepting the balance cash, I realized that he charged me double toll amount. Upon asking, he said, your vehicle do not have FASTAG or your account has low balance. At Khalapur toll, I had paid the toll amount using same FASTAG. Also, note that the FASTAG sticker is pasted on windshield. The available balance was 814 INR. Further, the supervisor scanned the FASTAG using hand-held device. He said, the double toll amount will be reversed to your account. In second time of scanning, the device once again showed 'Low Balance'. When questioned on this, the supervisor & other toll employee behaved inappropriately. It is unfair to charge double toll amount due to technical error at tolls. The receipt has been attached.
