Mumbai Mahanagar Palika — Complaint against Assistant Engineer, Building & Factories Department, MCGM D-Ward, Mumbai

Inspite of the orders issued by Bombay High Court recently in matters of illegal construction in very old buildings in Mumbai which have been the cause of loss of human lives, there are some officers in Mumbai Mahanagarpalika who are not obeying the orders of the Courts. Just last month there have been several instances of illegal construction at several locations on different floors in different wings of the building Maheshwari Mansion at 34 Nepean Sea Road in South Mumbai. The building is nearly 85 years old. I have filed several complaints with photographs clicked with day and date camera and posted them online to the concerned departments of Mumbai Mahanagarpalika. The officer of Building & Factories Department who has opened all the said complaints has replied to me online with a common reply in four complaints with his signatures but has not mentioned his name. He is the Assistant Engineer of Building & Factories Department in D-Ward. One reply states that the areas/locations of illegal construction which he visited was found under lock and key, another reply states that I should complain to the Election Commission, third reply states that I should complain to the Registrar of Co-operative Housing Societies at Malhotra House, Fort, Mumbai. This officer is receiving his salary and perks to send such replies online but he is making a mockery of his post and mockery of Mumbai Mahangarpalika. He should be punished for Contempt of Court, misuse of power and dereliction of duty.
