[Resolved] Nsdl E-Governance Infrastructure — Regarding PAN card correction | |||||
This is about PAN acknowledgement number [protected] . I had applied for correction in my PAN card in the month of December 2016. Subsequently i had sent the necessary documents by dak to NSDL . The address proof was according to the list given on the website. However i was informed that the address is not matching with the one provided in the application form whereas actually it was matching. Again i was informed that the address proof document is not as per the prescribed list. I sent another copy explaining that it was the receipt of gas cylinder which was one of the option mentioned in the website. Since then i am getting mail that documents are under verification and will be forwarded to income tax department. This whole process has taken more than 3 months without any genuine reason and still the process is not completed. With the government's initiative of making PAN card mandatory for bank transactions and other activities, it is unfortunate that the process takes so much time without any valid reason. Today I got a mail intimating that the gas cylinder receipt is 3 months old . This is as per the last cylinder received and it has become old during unnecessary long process by your office. Secondly, it is told that the address in Aadhar card doesn't match. In this connection, it should be appreciated that Aadhar was issued at my previous place of posting. I will be changing the address in Aadhar also in near future. Time and again, it is being intimidated that the address in application form and proof of address which is the receipt of gas cylinder is not matching which is totally wrong. Also, at one point of time i was asked to submit a copy of gas book which was not necessary according to the list of documents given on website. The unnecessarily prolonging in correction in PAN only indicates harassment and falsifies the claim of issuing the corrected PAN within days. Being a group A officer of central government, this type of response from your office is totally unwelcome. I would request to look into the matter and issue the corrected PAN.
