[Resolved] PNB Metlife / Axis Bank — Not Taking Ownership | |||
This is with regard to my dad's Policy No. [protected] with the invested amount of Rs.1, 50, 000/- and Interaction Id No.28304987. This policy was almost forced upon me by Mr Pramit Mitra & Deepal Saha from Axis Bank in 2008. He is an old man and have no idea about Mutual Funds and such Insurances. He was clearly informed by them, that the amount of Rs.50, 000/- to be paid by him for 3 years and the amount with existing value at the time of closure can be withdrawn anytime after 5 years of tenure. Please note that there was no mention of any penalty/pre-closure charges mentioned for this policy. Post which he was asked to sign the documents which he did. He had no idea what was mentioned as clause in the Terms and Conditions which was told to me when I was following up for delay in closure of the policy and while going through repeated calls and enquires. He had sent the docs for cancellation even last year, Nov’13 and he did receive a retention call from your unit in Bangalore. Even they never mentioned any such charges but just requested him to continue since the fund value was less at that point of time. This issue was going on since May’14 and he had personally visited Jalpaiguri Branch several times and Delhi Branch twice. In between, I had escalated the case to the call center and had spoken to everyone there and post that had written to complaints desk as well. But no one had ever mentioned this huge penalty of 20k was never Nor did anyone mention that the Jalpaiguri Branch is already closed and the docs for cancellation of policy would take 1 month + time to reach the required unit, which again was confirmed only once I had contacted them. Harrassment does not end here………….he was asked to visit Branch with reference at Vasant Kunj branch clearly stating that he was supposed to just go and sign a document in front of the branch personal as verification since verification on call could not be done and cancellation of policy was sitting at your office with no further action or information. As expected, again incorrect information was given and he was asked to get all the docs again like cheque leaf, address proof, identity proof and whole lot of docs. He again made arrangement for all and when I called again in Call Centre, we were told nothing is required and hence he was supposed to visit again just to sign one doc as confirmed earlier So he visited and completed the formalities……. And then I was told that a specified amount which was much lesser than the actual fund value would be paid back. When I called the Call Centre to check why and spoke to Khazana, after several probes, atlast we were told that 20K will be deducted as penalty charges. AFTER 6 YEARS OF INTERACTION WITH THE BANK, CALL CENTER AND BRANCHES, ONLY AFTER CLOSURE PROCESS WAS COMPLETED, WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE IS A CHARGE OF RS.20, 000/-. THIS IS POST MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS WITH MULTIPLE TOUCHPOINTS IS THIS HOW BANKS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE SUPPOSED TO RUN AND FOOL PEOPLE ? DO THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO HARRASS PEOPLE AND PUT THE COMPLETE BLAME ON TO CUSTOMERS ? SHOULD THESE BANKS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES BE MAKING MONEY BY CHEATING PEOPLE AND PENALIZING OLD PEOPLE ? Now we have got the principal amount with so much of fight after 6 years and Insurance company has reverted me with the standard answer that it;s your fault since you did not read the terms and conditions...
