[Resolved]  PVR Cinemas — Complaint for PVR Gift card Balance Deduction

Yesterday, on 10/06/2014 when I was booking tickets for X men : Days Of Future Past (3D), Ambience Mall Gurgaon, I Applied my gift card no. - [protected] (exp-August 28, 2014) of 300/- and its pin but due to some technical reasons my transaction failed, after that when I again tried to book tickets and followed the same procedure your website showed that the card has zero balance. I also checked the card's balance in you gift card section there also its showing zero balance, so how can it have a zero balance when my transaction was not even completed. Also, there was no notification from Pvr on either my mobile or my Email about the following transaction. So please kindly look into the matter at earliest and reload the amount into the card so that I can enjoy my movie. Thank you. Varun Chaudhary Email- [protected]@gmail.com

i just emailed the same to pvr at [email protected] within some hours they reloaded the amount in the gift card...hats off to their instant response...

Hi,

I would like clarification and raise a formal complaint on the practices of issuing Gift Cards (bought from Amazon.in) and having them rendered useless quickly.

I ordered this item on 24-June-2015 for which my item was delivered on 28-June-2015. I gifted the card to my sister and between 28-June-2015 and 16-Aug-2015, she was unable to use the card due to various excuses given by your staff on 2 separate occasions - citing "Machine not working" to the frivolous - "Gift Card is not activated".

Anyway, I was only able to use the card for the 1st time on 16-Aug-2015, and mind you that too after a lot of hassle with PVR Cinema Theater authorities. Mr. Arun (who was on duty at that time at Phoenix MarketCity - Kurla, MUMBAI) was the one who was called upon to help me be able to finally use the card. A small balance was used for F&B during my late night show.

I had also formally lodged a written complaint (on the same day) for this issue - and Mr. Arvind Shukla (I believe Theater Manager In-Charge) was supposed to have gotten back to me on the status of the same. I still await the call and status update on my complaint.

Given the validity of your gift card is 90 days, and 16-Aug-2015 is the date of activation (I don't believe you can consider activation the day the card left your warehouse) - since I as a purchaser will never know when the card has left your warehouse and I would then have already lost precious time between activation and time of purchase if that's the case - (howsoever small period that may be),

I should ideally (given my situation above) have validity till 16-Nov-2015. When I check the status of my card today (27-Sep-2015) it shows card expired - which I believe is unfair business practice.

Can somebody help resolve this issue?
I have almost the entire value of my card - thanks to unclear disclosures and unfair business practices.
