SBI Credit Card — Annual charges levied on lost card (Even not reissued to me)

I had SBI card no [protected] and same had been lost in the month of Feb'15( tentatively).

I had lodged complaint and subsequently got message for blocking the card.

Further, I had mentioned that Please not reissue the card to me

Since then, I had not used the card, and now SBI Card team, has sent me annual charges.

Already I have been communicated to them, I am not able to pay the card, as it is not in active mode also. ( Rediffmail trail mail )

Thank you for writing to SBI Cards.

This is with reference to your communication dated 11 Jan 2016.

Charges Related

We understand the concern expressed in your communication and sympathizes with the difficulties faced by you. We are however not in a position to provide annual fee charge wavier on your SBI Card Account.

We would like to inform you that currently there are no free cards given by SBI cards and from the next year onwards renewal fee can be reversed basis on the card spends for Rs.75000 and internal decision.

SBI Card Re-issue Related

We would request you to confirm the following details, as it would enable us to take necessary action at the earliest.

*Mother’s Maiden Name (OR) Date of Birth

*Residential Address with pin code

*Official Address with pin code

*Register Mobile Number

Post receipt of your confirmation request would be taken for card re-issue.

Card Replacement Charges

We would also hereby inform you that a replacement fee of Rs.100.00 plus government service tax (as per applicable charges) would be applicable towards the reissue of new card.

Post receipt of your confirmation request would be taken for card closure and account zeroisation.

Incase of any query, would request you to reply at [protected]@sbicard.com using the same subject line or contact the SBI Card helpline at[protected]toll),[protected]prefix local STD code) or[protected]toll free). IVR & Emergency Services on helpline are available 24 hours and Customer Service representatives are available from Monday to Saturday between 8am to 8pm.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can write to Nodal Officer, Customer Service at [protected]@sbicard.com using the same subject line. You will receive a response within 8 working days.

Dear Madam,

While on applying card, I was offered life time free, but the charges annual are being levied on me.

Further, I have lost the card and duly regostered the complaint with customer care. Also asked to not issue a new card to me.

I m not having your card, then how I am able to pay the annual charge to you.

It is untrade practice, as such a consumer is concerned.

Please waive off the charges of annual fee, as such I dont have your sbi card with me.

Annual Fee: We wish to apprise you the annual fee billed to your card account is a basic product price which covers only a portion of the cost incurred by us in maintaining your card account.
