Skoda India — Clutch plate failure

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and serious concerns regarding the recent experience I had with my Skoda Kushaq, which has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Since December 2022, I have been a proud owner of the Skoda Kushaq, and I have always taken great care of my vehicle. On September 30th, while driving from Chennai to Pondicherry, I encountered a distressing situation. The car suddenly died in the middle of the road, leaving me and my passengers stranded for hours. Subsequently, it refused to respond to any acceleration attempts.

Upon towing the vehicle back to the Chennai service centre, I was informed that the clutch plate was completely worn out and needed replacement. What baffles me is that this issue occurred after driving just under 10, 000 km in less than nine months. I have a decade of experience driving cars, and I have never encountered such a premature clutch plate failure, regardless of driving conditions.

My frustration further escalated when I spoke to the service centre representative. Not only did he fail to provide any assurance that this issue wouldn't reoccur in the future, but he also insinuated that the problem was due to my driving habits. He didn't stop at that. He was vehemently saying " My mistake"This lack of accountability and the implied blame-shifting left me deeply unsatisfied.

As a reputed brand I am sure you will be aware that the wear and tear of a clutch plate is not something that happens all of a sudden. It happens over a period of time. From the time of purchase till 30 Sep I found no change in the way the clutch behaved or functioned.

I kindly request a thorough investigation into this matter to determine if there are any underlying issues with the clutch system. I also request that the service centre provide a satisfactory resolution to my current predicament.

I value the Skoda brand and hope that this incident can be resolved to my satisfaction, allowing me to continue enjoying my Skoda Kushaq without any further concerns.
