[Resolved]  Skoda India — My Car is Lying in Workshop from past one year

I am writing this complaint with highest level of DISSATISFACTION and DISAPPOINTMENT from Skoda. With high expectations, I bought Skoda Rapid believing it will be a car with highest level of standards, quality and satisfaction being from the House of Audi & Volkswagen, the brands which are synonym with the same. But soon I got hit with the reality and came to know why so many people tried to stop me from buying this car. On 21st August 2014, I had collected my car from Giriraj Motors Workshop, Sector – 15, Gurgaon, after a replacement of brake pads and brake cleaning. On 23rd August 2014, while driving my car the coil light started flashing, post which I called my advisor and asked him what this meant. He told me that there is nothing to worry about, it is flashing due to some disturbance in the engine and I should bring the car to the garage. So, on 24th August 2014, I took my car again to Giriraj Motors Workshop and showed it to the advisor, after examination the advisor told me that there was a problem with my car’s turbo and since my car is still in warranty period I shall get the replacement for the same, free of cost. I approved it and he told me that I shall get the car in 3-4 working days. After not getting any revert in 7 days I again called my advisor and asked him about the update. He told me that Skoda have asked the reason for the malfunction in the turbo and for this they will have to disassemble the car’s engine and examine it. So I gave him this approval and after 4 days he got back to us saying that there have been a problem with the base engine of the car and that too will be replaced along with Turbo, and all these expenses would be covered by Skoda since this is a manufacturing defect and would e covered under warranty. After a few days when we again enquired on the status of the car the advisor called us to the workshop and told us that Skoda have disapproved the work and we will have to bear the entire expenses of approx 6 lacs. When we asked them the reason they told us that it was due to consequential damage caused by damage to my Camber, which got hit approx 3000 kms before the incident. After I reminded them that my car have always been serviced at your workshop only and both the times when my camber got hit it was they who had fixed my car, they agreed and told me that they shall again speak with Skoda internally and get back to us. So again we waited. After a long halt, I got a call fro the works manager and he told that Skoda has asked to apply for these damages through insurance claim and they shall push the insurance agents and get this sorted. So we submitted the claim form with the required documents and waited. Again after a very long halt I got a letter from my insurance company that this damage cannot be covered under the policy. Today it has been more than one year that my car is still in the Garage and have also not got any replacement vehicle due to which I have to daily commute for approx 80 kms using public transportation. Now there are a few question for which I would need answers to. Is this the quality Skoda offers? Is this the customer satisfaction Skoda boasts about? Is this the standard Skoda cars have? I am sure that there was a manufacturing defect due to which the engine got damaged, since my car had run for only 28338 kms, before I had given at the workshop, and any car’s engine runs smoothly for a minimum 1, 00, 000 kms. And, if not manufacturing defect, it is the fault of the workshop who did not attend to my car properly and without proper inspection when i had brought it for repairs. I hope that some help would be provided to me and my car would either be fixed and given back to me in new condition or there would be a replacement to it.
