[Resolved] Skoda India — skoda rapid battery failure | |||||
I bought skoda rapid (Chasis number - tmbbufna7fg016410) in feb 2016 from nawab motors - noida. I bought it just a year back and it suddenly wasn't starting in the morning. I sent my car to the service centre (Nawab motors - noida) two days back. They told me the battery is not working and needs to be replaced. Firstly i was told they don't have battery in stock and have to wait for 4 days to be replaced and suddenly after a day i was told that "battery is not covered in the warranty". I want to know is it true that skoda doesn't cover battery in the warranty? Also isn't it too early for a skoda battery to stop working. Given the fact that it has been roughly a year and a half. I would also like to add up that there is a noise issue with steering wheel which has been reported to service center (Nawab motors - noida). I faced this issue just after first car service which happened just two months back. It is as clear case of negligence during the service of not greasing shocker bearing to stop noise. Moreover i was informed that you i can buy extended warranty in a time span of two years however presently i am told that i should have bought it in the first year of purchase itself which is not ethical at all as the information given was wrong. I am having the same problem, I brought my car on Dec-14 and had this prob in Nov-16. They replaced the battery in the service center. Today again the battery drained and there was no indication or symptoms to this. It just suddenly stopped working. How long should i keep doing this ? Totally frustrated. Please do not buy this car. The service center people dont care at all.

Please let me know what solution you have received. I am facing the same problem and bought top model Skoda Rapid Style Plus AT in March 2016. I also got to know that battery has worn out in just 18 months. Skoda is asking to pay for it as battery is not covered under warranty.
I am feeling same as you coz' I also went for Skoda even after people told me not to go for the same. Its almost 15 days but no one turned up!!
