I am writing this as a hugely disappointed online shopping customer to you. I ordered an apple ipad air 128gb wi-fi plus cellular gold color from snapdeal.com on 31st march 2016 the seller being named gizmos.The price of the product was too good to be true but given snapdeal’s reputation i booked the only piece available in haste paying rs 49, 699/- via debit card and my order was confirmed with order id: [protected]
The product was delivered to me at my home address at abohar -152116, punjab by gojavas courier service on 5th of april 2016.I found the manufacturing date of september 2015 (Its quite unusual for an apple product to be laying around without selling).I opened the package boxing and immediately noticed an ugly looking dent at the aluminium back panel of the tablet giving me an impression of a used or already returned product.I didn’t switch on the product, placed a call to snapdeal’s customer care no. Registering my complaint about the dented product and requested for a return/replacement as per the snapdeal’s 7 day return policy.My complaint was registered under reference no. 21816834 on 5th april 2016.I was told that i would receive a call back in 24-48 hrs but i received no communication from snapdeal team.I had to tweet to @snapdeal_help to get back a call.I was asked to share the images of the defected product via email to which i replied with the required snaps.
After this i was told that the product will be picked up from my house by ecom express couriers in next 2 days. Upon receiving no communications from the courier or snapdeal in next 2 days i again sorted help from snapdeal at twitter.I received a call stating me to wait for two more days for the courier to pick the produc from my house. Again 2 more days passed and no signs of courier.I had to contact the snapdeal again and i got an answer that the product can not be picked up from my house since the ecom couriers have no serviceability in my area.I even asked to provide any nearby-to-my-hometown center of ecom couriers to which i was ready to personally hand over the product but this request was rejected and instead i was asked to manually send back the product to snapdeal warehouse in raipurkalan near chandigarh.I enquired 3 courier services available in my city and to my surprise none of them were ready to ship to the area since it fell under rural area.I immediately communicated this to snapdeal team and requested them to provide some urban address to send the product.Upon my request they changed the return address to snapdeal’s nangloi warehouse new delhi.Even after this only one courier overnite express agreed to ship the product with a transit insurance under their priority service but only after cautioning me that they had shipped parcels to the above mentioned address before too but none of them got accepted due to the courier’s policy of delivering only sealed pack products while the snapdeal team at the warehouse asks to open up the package before receiving. I again contacted snapdeal team about the issue.I was asked again to wait for the ecom couriers to pick up the product.But as was evident there were no signs of courier service for next two days.I was asked to send back the product to nangloi by myself stating that there would be no such issues regarding delivery of the product and shall any issue arise i was given the contact of mr newton at nangloi warehouse. Upon assurance by the snapdeal team i shipped the product to nangloi warehouse on 19th april 2016 via overnite express’ priority services from abohar with awb no. [protected]
The courier reached delhi on 20th april 2016 i.E. The next day but when it tried to deliver the product the team at nangloi warehouse of snapdeal refused to take the delivery. I contacted the customer care at snapdeal again notifying them of the problem upon which they requested me to ask the courier to hold up the package and try again the following day and also to contact mr newton.Next day i.E. On 21st april 2016 i contacted mr newton about the problem and forwarded him the courier and package details via sms as per his request.Later in the evening i was contacted by the overnite couriers that the snapdeal team at nangloi warehouse is again refusing to take the delivery.I immediately contacted i)snapdeal customer care, notifying them about the problem ii)mr newton too via phone call to which he replies that he won’t be accepting any sealed pack delivery making the same issue, as was told by overnite couriers prior to accept the shipping, evident.I asked him to contact the customer care team which had assured me that a sealed package will be accepted in any case but mr newton won’t listen to anything and hence the delivery was rejected by the snapdeal team that day again.Now i complained back about the issue to the customer care of snapdeal upon which i was requested to make overnite couriers hold up the package for one more day while they were looking into the issue. Baffled, i had to request the courier to hold back the package for yet another day.
Next day i myself as well as the overnite couriers contacted mr newton prior to attempt delivery again.But to my surprise mr newton was adamant upon opening up the courier box before accepting the delivery.He even tried to convince me to make the courier redirect to the gurgaon warehouse of snapdeal.I had to argue that what type of courier service would deliver, at their own risk, an insured package to some address other than they were assigned to deliver at.I even called the customer care again but all in vain and at the end of the day i had to accept the overnite courier’s call to return back the package to me since they were no longer able to hold the package in delhi anymore. I started to get the feeling of being cheated and victim fraudulent nature of snapdeal and their return policy.

So to return the faulty product back to snapdeal 1) ecom courier assigned by snapdeal had failed to pick up the product from my house. 2)i requested to issue me an ecom courier center near to my hometown to which i personally would hand over the product to, but this had not been accepted too by snapdeal. 3)my attempt to manually ship back the product has been in vain too and that too after clarifying the issue with the snapdeal team even before shipping.
I wondered what option was left for returning back the product??? I contacted back the customer care next day again to ask the same from them.This time i asked them to confirm me in writing via an email regarding my money being secured under the snapdeal’s policy of trust pay till now to which miss yogita of snapdeal team assured me that the phone call was a recorded one and she assures me over this call regarding my concern that my money was safe under return policy since i had raised a complaint within 7 days of receiving the product.
Now i, unhappy to the core by now, offered that the last resort to return back the defected product is that i, the idiotic and disgusted customer of snapdeal.com, myself will take the product back to their warehouse since no courier will let their team to open up the whole package before accepting delivery.I requested to change back the address for return to their chandigarh warehouse since it was closer to my hometown (300kms to be exact). I was asked to wait for 24 hours for a reply.
After this the real return policy of snapdeal starts unfolding. I got a phone call from snapdeal team stating since the product is too pricy they can not allow a return to chandigarh warehouse even and the only place to ship the product back will be their gurgaon warehouse and they will accept no sealed package deliveries and the courier will have to open up the whole packaging before the snapdeal team accept the delivery at the warehouse.
I was like thank you snapdeal and kudos to your return policy.The product wasn’t picked up by snapdeal. The manual return back to their warehouse was rejected.And there is no possible way out for a successfully returning back the defected item to them.I feel extremely cheated and dejected by the way things have turned out and i feel stuck for more than 3 weeks now with a defected product and my hard earned money mugged from me by snapdeal and their faulty sellers.
And now the real face of snapdeal shows up.Snapdeal team, who for past two days is telling me that they are trying to arrange for a reverse pick up for the defective product, today tells me that upon internal investigation (Without even getting back the product) they have found discrepencies in the product and my return/refund has been cancelled for the product.Upon asking about what these discrepencies are they won’t answer (Because there is nothing to reply).
I have all the emails, the courier receipts of the reurn and their status as well as the phone recordings with your customer care and especially mr newton who himself declined to even accept the return even before opening.Snapdeal i would like to see you in consumer court and compensate for all the painful experience and harrassment you have given me.Your website is a partner to channel defective and cheap class products along with the sellers of such items.I would like and try to make millions aware of your fraudster policies and evil ways of business.
