Sony India — Service done by non technical person

I have bought a SONY LCD Model no KDL-32W670A on 04.06.2015.During the recent floods in Chennai on 2nd Dec 2015 my TV got affected after the water receded I noticed water droplet inside the TV. I immediately placed a complaint with the customer care on 08.12.2015 which complaint no[protected].The call was forwarded to Chennai region. I informed them that the TV was affected during Flood Mr.Vijayan visited my premises on 12.12.2015 as soon as he visited he told that I cannot avail any warranty on this TV as it was purchased in Qatar. Then I showed the warranty card & other details he said that the warranty can be availed. It was shocking for me as your service person had no idea about international warranty offered by SONY .Mr.Vijayan Without proper inspection & justification at 1st site when a person from a reputed service center he expressed his opinion like this. Then he inspected properly and he told that everything is ok where I can switch on the TV immediately as there is no problem. In my presence he switched on the TV that day itself and added he said that the water seepage automatically will get dry if I place it in the sun light for some time. He never told me to change the panel board, nowhere it was recorded in Complaint log sheet or complaint receipt during his visit. The same thing can be verified by you with your internal records.
Though I shocked by this irresponsible answer but due to his hurry I paid the service charge Rs 225 /-(bill enclosed) sent him & as my remote was also affected I asked for a replacement from him and he told me to call on next day. But there was no response for the same & I didn’t get any proper response even for the remote replacement and the request was placed on 08.12.2015. While asking about the remote I enquired the same person about my TV as it whether I can switch it on as I have dried it in the sun for the past 4 days. But to my surprise he told that bring TV to the service center & get the board changed which cost Rs15, 000/-. If the TV board needs to be changed he should have told me the same day instead of telling everything is OK in person of telling the board should be changed after 2 days. Is this the type of customer service expected from SONY? I really wonder whether the person who came to service was a proper technical person or Some NON Technical person. I am really disappointing by this callous attitude from your service person.

Due to my ill health for about 3 weeks I was not able to follow up on that work for some time. So I again registered a Complaint with your Customer care on the date 11.01.2016 for the same issue of the complaint no is 30128089 .The next day your ( local Chennai region service center – Chennai services ) person called me & told that will send the concerned person to my premises but no one turned up. So I personally visited the service center on 19.01.2016 for getting a new remote & follow up on the previous complaint .They advised me to bring my TV to service center & get to inspected. As advised I took the TV to the service center in WEST TAMBARAM CHENNAI SERVICES on 21.01.2016. After inspecting the TV Service people were asking me to change the panel which will be costing around Rs13, 500/-.when I said that my TV got affected on DEC 2nd. Then immediately they asked me that why you did not bring the TV to service center immediately that day itself as the problem have been solved at a low cost of Rs 500/-. I am really worried & hurt by this poor customer service as due to your service person’s knowledge of irresponsible attitude now you have made me to spend around Rs13, 500/- for a thing which could have been rectified at a Lowest cost of Rs 500 /-. As told by your service center this is extra cost cannot be bared by me & it is totally not acceptable as it is due to your poor service. I seriously look forward to getting this complaint resolved at the earliest as you would have understood by now that for no fault of mine I am made to spend such a huge amount as the same could have rectified way cheaper if a proper person would have attended the complaint .Looking for a favorable response at the earliest.
