Sony India — ***Sony Bravia KLV 40R452A - 6 Times Red Light Blinking Issue***

This complaint is regarding the Sony Bravia KLV 40R452A we had purchased on September 13, 2013. On June 23, 2015, we faced an issue with the television automatically switching off while we were watching it. When tried to restart the set, we experienced an issue which is a known issue worldwide i.e. 6 times red LED blinking issue. The red LED blinks On and Off for 6 times and the TV is not operating properly. Before calling customer support, we performed factory reset; however, the problem still persists. Even the technical support couldn’t resolve the issue and informed us that an engineer would visit us (Complaint ID[protected]. There will be a charge for 230 INR for the visit and service charge would be 800 INR. Also, if the problem is with any part, we will have to bare the charges and this entire process would take 10 – 15 days, which didn’t make any sense as the issue is not because of mishandling or careless use of the product but with the product/model itself. During my conversation with customer care, I requested to speak with a manager so that I could escalate the issue and expedite the process; however, I was informed that there was no manager available and I would receive a call back, which I didn’t. It is very disappointing when you have to go through this with a brand like Sony. If an LED TV from a brand like Sony doesn’t work for even 2 years, on what basis should customers differentiate between Sony and other brands? It makes more sense to buy products from cheaper brands which cost far less, and unfortunately if there are problems, the repairs are also going to be cheaper and faster. Thanks! I am facing exactly the same issue with my 40 KLV452 LED tv which I purchased in 2013. Totally disappointed with Sony. Will never recommend a Sony product to anyone.

I am facing exactly the same issue with my R 45 Full HD KLV 40R452A LCD to which I purchased in 22 Apr 2013. Totally disappointed with Sony.once switch off in the to after 5 mints u cane switch on TV not working 6 times red LED blinking issue. The red LED blinks On and Off for 6 times and the TV is not operating properly maximum one day working Will never recommend a Sony product to anyone.once

Hello everyone

Over the last one year, I have received many calls and I've tried helping with the limited knowledge I posses about this issue. The recent development is, that if the kept unused for a few days and plugged back directly into the wall socket instead of a surge protector, it works.Also, I tried contacting some local guys to get the TV fixed and they offered to fix the TV w/ an overall cost of 8K. However, the engineers from Sony informed me that the issue is with the panel and it will cost 20K to get it fixed and that too, they will take the TV with them and it might take more that 2 weeks.

Apparently, I had to buy a new TV and the first thing I did was to get it insured to be on the safe side (Once bitten, twice shy :)).

am facing exactly the same issue with my 32inch KLV32R482B LED tv which I purchased in 13feb2015. After two years 11mar2017 issue occurs,

I purchase a sony bravia klv 40r562c one year before. that time to 6 times blinking error its appear.. there is sony technical support is not clearly saying . sony service mechanic told that is back light problem persist in your tv . But sony service centre told you change the whole display parts rate is inr 18000 .. whats going on a sony led tv service centre in pudhucherry.. The same issue with most of sony bravia tv buyers even the same problem we are facing. Why this sony company ### are not understanding and fix the problem asap, simply by saying that their brand is world number one brand.People are buying sony tv with trust even it is more expensive compare with other brands.Sitting in AC chambers will not work, understand the ground reality it is peoples hard EARN money do not cheat.
Am also having same issue. KLV 28R412B bought in the month of June 2015. Immediately after 3 months display gone and they have changed in warranty period. Again the same problem happen now. Red light blinking for 6 times and no display. They said the LED display gone and i need to replace the new one which is Rs 7000.
Normally in previous years there is brand name for sony and the picture tube will valid for 15 yaers. But in this case am seeing many of them having issue in the model KLV which means this would be an manufacturung defect.
Anyone gets any rectification given by sony?
I bought this 43 inches klv series TV for 65 thousand in October 2017. Today 28 June 2019, I m facing the same problem. TV shut down automatically while it was on. Now when I m trying to start it, red light blinks for 6 times. I searched on internet bout the issue. I came to know the issue. Did I pay 65 thousand rupees just to watch TV for 20 months? I mean I just saw the brand and good picture quality at the dealership and bought it. Utterly disappointed by my decision of buying this TV. Will never ever recommend this product and products of this company to anyone in future.
Iam also another victim of Sony led TV.Showing too much trust on Sony brand is nightmare for me now.I purchased 55inch LED TV in 2014, past 1week, same issue of 6times red led flash.Authorized service guy visited and told traditional answer that full panel to be replaced, due to backlight issue.I brought this TV for 1.3L.I don't know what to do.
