Tanishq — Non availability of birthday offer

Today being my birthday I received a message from tanishq offering 10% discount on any of the products. So I visited the store and bought diamond studs.The store was offering 10%discount. Consequently I didn't get the birthday offer. Now where is the difference between a birthday offer and any other customer?
