[Resolved]  Tata Motors — starting problem in tata nano and its regular breakdown

Respected sir, I am having a Tata Nano car (JH20A9537). I faced a very bad experience with my nano car. My nano was facing a starting problem from the begining. My car is under warranty so i had to take it to service centre (Basudeo auto ltd and craft service station, Ranchi ) to resolve this problem . I explained the problem and they took the car from me and entered it to workshop. But I had not got good result .so many time I had faced breakdown in my nano in journey due to the same problem.i am totally harassed mentally and financially due to this type o[censored]p and down .Recently I had faced the same problem in Gumla .i had given a complain to customer care (tata motors).after this towing van had reached to Gumla and towed my nano car to Basudeo auto ltd, Ranchi .at the time of delivery I had seen the same starting problem in my vechile .i had talked to the service man regarding this and he replied me that this problem can not be resolved in nano cars. Ye sabhi nano ka problem hai. Now I am very tired .please help me resolve this problem either by service or by changing the vechile.

Hi,

I am also facing same problem with nano from last 2 years, spent a lot to mechanic, every time they repair starter works fine for few weeks and again shows same problem..
Several times in traffic when it happens, its a lot of embarrassing, I have to request people to push the car & get off the road, and they end up with saying that why did you buy this dabba car or blame the driver for his driving.

Some how problem has been fixed now, one local mechanic changed started, added starter booster and new battery.. since then from last one year its working fine...
If there is anyone reading this.. Please consider this, never buy TATA vehicle, after sales service is so pathetic that they will loot you in all ways.

I happened to buy a used TATA Nano recently, I understand that vehicle is 2010 model but I know Maruti cars running on roads for more than 15 years and giving value to customers. After buying TATA Nano, there was no such issue but I gave it for full service so that I feel good. They took a period of 5 working days to service it and charged me 7500 rs. which I paid thinking that they would have done something but when I drove my car first time it was making sound in rear wheels. After just 10 -12 days, one day when tried to start it could not get started. I called up TATA emergency service, guy came and threw an advice on my face that it was alternator issue due to which battery is not charging and expressed his inability to do anything about it. He charged again Rs. 650 without providing any service. Now I have my car standing in front of my house and I feel like being looted by everybody.

I have no clue where should I go and get the things right and able to use this vehicle atleast for some time.

They sell hell lot of AMCs, even I bought it when I got my service done but thats not applicable for most of things and they charge again for everything. By buying NANO, I am spending like anything and still I am not able to use the vehicle. Apart from that every now and then I am taking leaves from work to get these things done.

Please never buy TATA vehicles, these people are really pathetic, I am sure they do something on vehicle and you will every day be standing there in service center to get the things rectified and I am sure that one day you will give up and sell it to the scrapdealer and will run away from TATA forever.

I am fortunate that I didnt buy new vehicle then I would not have any choice but to go through this torment for a long time.

Tata nano ka start ka aur brekdown ka problem bar bar hota hai.. long root par kabhi bhi aapko dhokha de sakti hai.. nano car kharid ni hi nahi chahiye thi.. ekdum bakwas car hai..

Very true, I too am facing battery problem just after 6 month from the date of purchase. TATA NANO failed on battery part since inception. The battery specification selected for NANO by TATAS does not meet the requirement the car needs. They have Google+ me a lot. You are always on anxiety whether it will start next time or not. You waste a lot of fuel at traffic signal because you can't put off the ignition because if it does not start you will face the music in the middle of the road. The executives at TATA who passed this battery specification should be sued by the TATAS. Now Nano battery is not available in the market. WHY THE TATAS NOT ADDRESSING THIS PROBLEM. WHY THEY ARE CHEATING THE CUSTOMER. IF THEY CANT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, BETTER TO STOP MANUFACTURING THIS CAR. MY CAR IS CX MODEL OF 1ST LOT BOUGHT IN 2010. I AM FED UP WjTH THIS BATTERY ISSUE.
Yes.I too have Starting problem on my Nano LX model of 2011.Three starter motors are changed and still the problem persists.Many times it starts normally and suddenly it does not even make a click sound, which normally happens with an undercharged battery.But some times, the next moment it starts, as though, every thing is absolutely fine.
At last it appears wisdom dawned on Tatas and as per latest information, they have already stopped regular production.It is said that they will make Nano cars on order...God knows which innocent guy orders!They will officially take it out from production line from April 2020.
