I have been an ardent follower of your esteemed newspaper since last over 40 years. Recently I have shifted to Gurgaon ( Wellington Estate)and wanted a supply of daily paper at my residence - for which the local vendor was approached. He started the supply but after 2 days insisted for security deposit of two months and made it a condition for daily supply of newspaper. In order to clarify the justification for TWO MONTHS' deposit, the reason given was that this was the condition in the area and everyone pays the same. I tried to convince him on one months' security deposit should be sufficient and was willing to pay - to which he was reluctant. Not left with any option, I agreed to his condition but wanted a receipt of the said deposit - to which he flatly refused - stating that no one in the locality insists for the same.Thereafter the supply of the newspaper was stopped. If this is the understanding of TOI with Vendors pls do let us know or intervene to resolve this issue.
