Vodafone Idea — Surrendered the SIM card at Vodafone showroom but they say the SIM is still active

Today[protected] i went to to cancel the vodaphone postpaid SIM and surrendered the SIM card at the showroom in VI kottivakkam chennai.

The showroom employees also confirmed the SIM card is disposed.
After 30Mins - I got a call from this VI Customer care number[protected] stating the SIM is still active.
