Vodafone India — Deactivation of data services | |||
I have 3 connections with Vodafone namely [protected], [protected] and [protected]. None of these connections which have been active for a minimum of 5 years have ever used data services. 2 of these numbers are used by my parents and 1 by myself. They are all registered against my name. None o[censored]s have, do or will ever want to use data services. I wrote to Vodafone to permanently remove data services from my phone. I have heard a lot of issues regarding people who did not realize that their data services were being used and ran up bills in the thousands and then were harassed by Vodafone collections. Under no circumstances do i wish to face that. Hence, as a proactive measure i wrote to Vodafone Customer Care to get the Data services deactivated. I was told that since it is a CORE service, it cannot be deactivated. For me, its like Vodafone being handicapped in terms of providing customer's security that they wont be charged for something they did not want to use. VOdafone has to find a way to deactivate these 'CORE' services. EMail to customer service and their response is attached. Was this information helpful? | |||
