Vodafone India — Fake m-pesa account | |||||
I have received from m pesa executive saying i have won prize of 25, 000 cash, SONY LED TV and IPhone 6 and for receiving these i have recharge my mpesa account with Rs.1000 then again with 2000, 5000, 5000, 5000, 5000 and finally to redeem it more 5000. and every time i have been asked to pay these amount saying this will be last payment. i got calls from [protected], [protected] and the person's name was Rahul Sharma he said he is m-pesa executive at Vodafone head office Ahmdabad. He got my information from the My Vodafone app, which he was able to login to by sending a change password/OTP request and tricking me into giving the OTP, telling me that OTP will activate the 'deal', but instead he got access to all my account info using the My Vodafone app or website. Did you do something similar - give him an OTP or password reset or something?

"Rahul" called me too - https://www.consumercomplaints.invodafone-india-took-money-from-my-m-pesa-wallet-scam-fraud-c1440024. I got scammed for 5k.
He scammed you with 28k??
It proves that customer information and data is no longer secure with the telecom co.
someone is taking this inside info from co. and fooling people into the scam by using Vodafone co. name.
Co. should take serious steps regarding this as soon as possible.
