I purchased a pay as you go indian sim card for 500 rupees. The details of the complaint are set out in this email i sent to vodafone below. So far i have had several acknowledgements, been allocated a reference number and promised a response but nothing has been resolved in more than 2 weeks
I purchased a prepaid sim on monday (1st november) this week from the khalchawada shop in arambol, pesnem, north goa. The sim cost rupees 500, and i was told this included 1g of internet and rupees 172 of call time.
I activated the phone the following day as directed by the shop assistant and received several text messages to confirm the sim was now activated. On wednesday i tried to make a local india call but found that i had no call credit left. This was the first call that i had tried to make so i was amazed to discover my credit could have gone down to rupees -0.50!
In addition to the problem with call credit i had absolutely no internet access since purchasing the sim.
We had moved from arambol by this time so i was not able to take the phone back to the shop; instead i called your costumer services number. I selected english as my language option but when i was connected the adviser spoke little english. She then cut me off without answering my question!
I went to a local shop today in palolem to ask for assistance but the shop keeper could only suggest that i return to arambol. This is not possible as it would cost around rupees 4200 to make the trip and return. I topped up rupees 100 and the internet became active. This internet 'session' was charged against my call credit, instantly reducing my balance to rupees 63, i immediately turned off mobile data before to whole lot disappeared again!
So, to date, it has cost me just under rupees 600 for no calls and a couple of seconds testing if the internet was connected.
I would therefore be extremely grateful if you would deal with this issue for me and provide the following solutions:
Reinstate the call credit that i was originally promised (Rupees 178)
Provide me with 1g of data as promised
Provide me with an explanation of what happened
Provide me with some complimentary call time and data to compensate for the problems i have been experiencing.
