Vodafone India — Vodafone postpaid to prepaid

I am jitender kumar, working out of india, my postpaid vodafone mobile no is [protected], i want to convert it to postpaid as i am no longer using it, my brother is using it.
My brother visited customer care centre but they told that i should have present for conversation.
Pls suggest how can i convert from postpaid to prepaid, as i am out of india.
I want to continue that number as my important contacts are at that number.
