Volkswagen India — Dealer closes shop and Volkswagen ditches its customers | |||
This is to bring to your notice the gross negligence on part of the Volkswagen India towards its customers as far as the maintenance and service of the cars. Our second service is due and we have come to discover that the dealer ATR Cars has closed shop. This happened six months back and there was no responsibility shown either by your company or by the dealer in informing all the car owners about the closure. Now that the dealer has washed his hands off the entire customer base of Volkswagen in Visakhapatnam has been left high and dry regarding the maintenance and service of their cars. The companies Customer Care response has been even more disappointing. While claiming to understand the inconvenience they are bluntly telling the customers to take their cars to the town of Guntur or Hyderabad for their service needs .The onus of the transport as well as scheduling the service has been pushed onto the hapless customers. The claim by your customer care staff that the service is only once a year and therefore we should not complain doesn't hold water. There are a lot of things that happen only once a year. If we had known that we would have to fit in the car service also in the once a year schedule where we would have to stop our professional work and take a three day trip for its service we wouldn’t have bought this car. The ease and quality of service, a promise made by your firm in its website has been violated by your company not taking any responsibility towards its customers. They are left to fend for themselves. The dealer has also gone scot free. The company being a large and reputed organization, the least they could have done is seen to it that the regular maintenance schedules and spare parts availability could have been temporarily handed over to their sister concerns like AUDI or SKODA who have maintenance workshops in Vizag. As a customer I feel greatly harassed and regret my decision to buy this car. After all any good thing is as good as the service it gets. I am now, not in any position to take my car to Guntur. I had taken the decision to buy this car after due consideration of the service infrastructure that was shown to me while selling it to me. If your company is going to ditch all its customers in this nasty way then I don’t think Volkswagen is going to see its mid range market intact. I sincerely request you to do a rethink on this and give the customers all that you claimed either directly or through your dealer’s sales network.
