[Resolved] Western Digital — my new hdd not detected
I have connected my newly bought 500gb western digital hdd in paralleI with another old western digital 500gb hdd. But the second (newone) hard disk is not detected in bios. Pc somehow manages
to boot but when i see in computer management there also its not detected. when i remove my old hard disk and only connect my new hard disk then also it's not detected. Is there problem with my new hard disk itself?
Or i need to update my new hard disk?
how to check if the hard drive is proper? Was this information helpful?

I’d like to know if you are using the WD product for Windows or MAC? Is there any error message, when you are accessing the device? Could you give me some more details about that? If possible, please provide a snapshot and the specific error message. If it’s a hardware issue and the HDD is still under warranty, I suggest you to proceed for an RMA. Hi vivek74,
I'd like to help you based on your post may I know is it external hard drive or an internal hard drive?
Did you try to connect the hard drive to another system if yes how it goes there?
Did you try to connect using different cables sometimes cables are not supported or may be failing?
Check all the connections properly, it can be a power supply issue as well.
If it's an internal hard disk you may visit the following link will help you to solve your issue and you can find that the drive is functional or not.
