Agarwal Packers And Movers (bade Bhaiya ) — Complaint for Deficiency in Service, Unfair Trade Practices, and Compensation Claim

I, Ronak Chhajed, hereby file this complaint against [Packers & Movers Company Name] for deficiency in service, unfair trade practices, and financial loss incurred during my household goods relocation.

Details of the Case: I had booked relocation services with the above-mentioned company and paid the required charges along with additional insurance coverage for my household goods. However, the services provided were highly unsatisfactory and unprofessional.

Issues Faced:
Damage to Goods:
Multiple items were delivered in damaged condition, including scratched furniture, broken plywood, and a cooker requiring repair. This clearly indicates negligent handling during transit.

Failure to Provide Committed Services (Sofa Handling):
At the time of booking, the company clearly committed that they would dismantle, transport, and reassemble/install the sofa at the destination.
However, at the delivery location, their team refused to assemble/install the sofa, which is a direct breach of commitment.
Due to this, I had to arrange a carpenter myself and incur additional expenses of Rs. 1200/-.

Unauthorized Charges:
An amount of Rs. 1500/- was collected as porter charges during unloading, which was neither agreed upon nor mentioned beforehand.

Unethical Conduct by Laborers:
The laborers demanded and collected Rs. 3000/- as “chai-pani” under pressure, promising careful handling of goods. Such behavior is coercive and unacceptable.

Insurance Not Honored:
Despite paying for additional insurance coverage, the company has failed to process the claim fairly and is offering an unjustified and significantly lower settlement.

Poor Complaint Handling:
I have already submitted all required claim details including GC number(s), itemized list, and photographic evidence on their portal. Despite this, the company repeatedly asks for the same information and is not resolving the complaint appropriately.

Financial Loss:
Sofa assembly (due to refusal at delivery): Rs. 1200/-
Unauthorized porter charges: Rs. 1500/-
Unethical cash taken (chai-pani): Rs. 3000/-
Furniture damage (scratches): Rs. 1500–2000/-
Broken plywood: Rs. 1500/-
Cooker repair: Rs. 200/-
Total Loss: Approximately Rs. 9000+

The company has offered only Rs. 4000/- as final settlement, which is unfair and unacceptable.
Relief Sought:

Compensation of Rs. 9000/- (or as deemed appropriate) towards actual financial loss
Additional compensation for mental harassment and inconvenience
Direction to the company to stop such unfair and unethical practices
Any other relief deemed fit by the Hon’ble Forum
I request the Hon’ble Consumer Forum to take necessary action against the company and ensure fair compensation and justice.
