Apollo Hospital Kolkata — negligence in a toddler's blood collection

My 3.5 yrs old daughters blood test was to be conducted on 8th may in apollo hospital. There are as many as 12 tests which costs 22k.in spite of the patient being a baby apollo hospital shown a great deal of carelessness and indifference. The experience was horrific.

1. Prilox cream was given in her hand and after 1 hour none of the sample collection center has enough resources to serve my child and we were send from one collection center to another and baby increasingly getting restless as she was beginning to understand what was going to happen to her

2. We were sent to pediatric dept finally and after another 15 mins of waiting with restless and agitated baby, reception seemed to find a doctor and 2 nurses to start the procedure

3. Whole hospital is centrally ac ed but unfortunately the procedure room has no ventilation and it is probably as large as the smallest room you can find in a kolkata slum. The baby crying in full flow and the sweat running like water. If cant think of more uncomfortable environment for a procedure on 3.5 yrs old child which is supposed to last 3 mins

4. The prilox cream was applied on hand and the blood was taken from wrist - such is the carelessness!!!

5. The baby vomited and excreted finally and the nurses asked the mother to carry the vials to collection room instead of either helping her to clean the child or carrying the vials. Even they asked mother to bandage the child. They just vanishes!!

6. Mother has to carry her child who is completely smeared with vomit to the collection room which was 2 floors downstairs - both are crying by that time

I am really shocked - apollo is not the pace to go for child'd blood collection - to say the least. Complete carelessness. They just can't differ a child from an adult.
