Dr. Subodh Das, Urologist at Apollo and now AMRI hospital Bhubaneswar has got to be the worst doctor ever. As an NRI Oriya looking for a good doctor to do my father's prostate surgery, I was initially happy to note that Apollo was now supposedly offering "world class healthcare" in Bhubaneswar. We consulted with Dr. Subodh Das several times, resulting in the surgery being done in 2013. The surgery was a nightmare, both because of Apollo Hospital and the doctor's sheer incompetence and greed. First of all, Apollo doesn't have the best doctors or staff, even on a local level. There were not enough nurses on the night shifts and they did not even change the catheter at the right time. The food provided was of very poor quality and came packaged in an unsafe manner. The technicians have no idea what they are doing and were unable to answer any questions. The photo attached shows the view from the window of our room and the open garbage dump within the premises, full of flies. Even though no doctor visited us each day, we were billed each day for 3-4 doctors and medicines that were unnecessary. The surgery cost us nearly Rs. 2 lakhs and my father has been suffering pain and discomfort ever since. Each time we went to Dr Das after the surgery, he kept saying that things would get better and kept changing my father's medication randomly, exposing him to multiple medicines with severe side-effects and without any warning. Urologist Dr. Subodh Das is a callous crook who tries to hide his own inability to perform the surgery correctly and provides no guidance to the patient. with each visit, he became more due and defensive. Finally, we sought an opinion from a renowned urologist in Delhi and after studying the reports before and after surgery and conducting his own tests, he concluded that Dr. Subodh Das had totally botched the surgery and not reduced the prostate size or median lobe at all. Moreover, he had injured several parts, which led my father to experience the discomfort that he did. I now have enough evidence to proceed against the butcher Subodh Das and am proceeding to file a case against him in consumer court. The day I get this quack Subodh Das to apologize at my father's feet, will be a great day in my life.
