I would like to bring to your attention the issue I faced during my father's recent cataract surgery at Arasan Eye Hospital.The surgery took place on April 10, 2023. Initially, we were informed that the total expense would be Rs. 35, 000, and we enquired about cashless claim with the hospital's insurance section. We have two health insurance policies, and after checking with both vendors, we opted to go with the one that offered a claimable amount of Rs. 35, 000.
Initially, the insurance vendor had only approved Rs. 22, 500, and we were asked to pay the remaining amount of Rs. 12, 500 to get my father discharged. We were assured that if the remaining amount was approved by the insurance vendor, we would receive a refund. On the same day, April 10, 2023, the vendor approved the remaining amount by 6:15 pm.
On April 12, 2023, we visited the hospital to open the sealing of my father's operated eye and enquired about the refunding process. Despite several requests and calls, we have not received the refund yet. The hospital's response to our queries has been very poor, and we have been given excuses like "the guy who is responsible for this is on leave today." We are concerned that they may be holding onto our money intentionally. My question is that the hospital got the remaining amount from the health insurance by 6:15 pm on April 10, 2023. What were they doing on April, 11, 2023 regarding the refunding process?
Therefore, I am kindly requesting the hospital to refund the remaining amount as soon as possible. I have attached the details of the authorization from the health insurance provider for your reference.
