In recent weeks, there has been recurring major electrical supply to Salunke Vihar which is a large retired Army personnel colony with approximately 800 dwelling units with a population of 2000 to 2500 veterans, most of whom are Senior Citizens. The latest power failure has lasted over 10 hours from midnight 07 August to 1200 hours 08.August. Reasons given by the staff of MSEDCL are broken or burnt transmission lines, faulty transformers and blown fuzes. This causing great hardship to the population of Army veterans and their families. It is therefore strongly recommended that a detailed investigation be carried out to diagnose the root causes of such recurring defects and suitable remedial measures taken to find a permanent solution to this problem. This should recommend a technical audit of the quality of the vital components of the transmission lines so that power supply lines, transformers, connectors and fuzes do not fail in this repetitive manner. An early action is requested on this complaint.
