Bamboopecker — Misleading ethical claims and lack of transparency on artisan pay and markups

I tried to contact Bamboopecker multiple times through their website asking basic questions about how artisans are compensated and how their product markups work. I received no reply for weeks.

When I finally left a Google review about the lack of transparency, their public response called my question a “threat” and gave a long, vague explanation that didn’t include any numbers or proof. Later, they emailed back saying they’re “not an NGO” as a reason not to share transparency information... even though their entire website and Instagram use “ethical” and “sustainable” as core marketing language.

This is exactly the kind of greenwashing that confuses customers who care about where their money goes. If you claim to be ethical, you should back it up with real data... not dodge questions and call customers’ concerns threats.
