Bes College — Regarding refund of admission fees upon cancellation

Mohammed Ummar Shah filed a complaint under Section 35 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, against the Principal of BES College of Degree, Bangalore, before the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Bengaluru-Urban. He had paid an advance admission fee of ₹22, 400 on 09/07/2024 for the academic year[protected] for a B.Com course through an account transfer to the college’s bank account. However, due to personal reasons and dissatisfaction with the institution, he decided to cancel his admission within two days and requested a refund. The college failed to process the refund and allegedly provided excuses to deny his claim. Therefore, he is seeking the refund along with interest and court expenses, requesting the honorable commission to pass an order in his favor.
