I would like to lodge a formal complaint against Mr. Javed Ahmed Bhat, who is employed as a Senior Medical Assistant at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. In addition to his government service, he is running a medical shop M/S:BHAT MEDICATE, located at Batpora, Wathora, Budgam, without maintaining proper standards as required under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.The shop has no proper display of license, no computerisation, and bills are neither generated nor provided. On visiting the premises, I observed dumpiness, lack of hygiene, and the pathetic condition of drugs being stored and sold, which poses a serious threat to public health. Medicines are kept in improper conditions, and Mr. Bhat treats individuals himself without qualification or authority, issues drugs without prescriptions, and sells medicines without attaching bills. When asked about the same, his behaviour was rude and irresponsible, further putting health at risk. For evidence purposes, the authorities may verify the CCTV footage of the shop.These actions amount to clear violations of professional ethics and the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. I therefore request the concerned authorities to conduct a surprise inspection of the said shop, take strict notice of these violations, and initiate necessary legal action to safeguard the health and rights of the public.
