I, Vijay Abhichandani, resident of Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), wish to lodge a complaint against BigBasket for short quantity delivery and mental harassment.
On 09 March 2026, I ordered Mahakosh Soyabean Oil – 15 Liters through BigBasket online platform.
However, the product delivered was a 13 Kg pack, which is clearly mentioned on the packaging. Thus there was short delivery of quantity.
The product is an essential daily necessity food item and due to urgent household cooking requirements, the oil pack was opened and substantially consumed before the shortage was realized.
Despite repeated complaints and sharing product photographs, the company is refusing refund stating that refund will be processed only after pickup of the product in the same condition. This is completely unfair and impractical.
A consumer cannot stop cooking food and wait for several days only to comply with internal pickup policy.
Further, I have received multiple lengthy calls from company representatives without any proper resolution, causing mental harassment, loss of business time and disturbance.
Since the matter remained unresolved, I have already filed a Consumer Complaint before the Hon’ble District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Bhopal through Government e-Daakhil portal.
