I am filing this complaint to warn other consumers and to document the extremely negligent service I experienced with Boxigo’s storage facility.
I opted for Boxigo’s storage service believing that my household furniture would be stored safely and professionally. Furniture is not just ordinary goods; it is the heart of a home and often holds both financial and emotional value. Unfortunately, my experience with Boxigo turned into one of the most stressful situations I have faced.
Boxigo does not operate with its own packaging, transportation, or storage teams. Instead, they rely on third-party vendors over whom they appear to have very little control. In my case, my belongings were handed over to Rajmudra Packers and Movers in Pune.
When I visited the storage location, I discovered that my furniture was not stored in a proper warehouse but in what appeared to be a small shop-like facility where items were stacked haphazardly on top of one another simply to save space. There was no proper organization or professional storage system in place.
I observed multiple serious issues during storage:
• No pest control appeared to have been carried out even though it was claimed. I personally saw rats in and around the storage premises.
• My mattress had been placed on top of a pointed object, which caused it to bend. Despite repeatedly calling Boxigo for nearly a month, the mattress was not corrected until much later.
• My refrigerator had originally been wrapped with a protective insulated cover when it was sent for storage, but the cover was missing when I collected the items.
• A table fan that was packed and stored with my belongings was found in the staff room during pickup with its plastic wrapping removed and dust on the blades, indicating it had been used by the staff.
• No proper inventory list of stored goods was maintained. The staff simply indicated a general area where my belongings were placed. This lack of inventory management creates serious risk because items belonging to different customers are not properly tracked.
• The staff at the facility appeared careless and unprofessional, and communication from Boxigo representatives was poor after the booking was completed.
The overall storage conditions were highly unprofessional and unsafe for household furniture. The packaging that had initially been done properly was effectively negated by the poor storage practices.
I trusted Boxigo to safeguard my belongings, but they outsourced the responsibility to a third-party vendor that clearly did not maintain professional storage standards. Because of this experience, I have now removed my belongings from Boxigo’s storage facility and shifted them to another provider.
I am submitting this complaint so that other consumers are aware of the risks before trusting Boxigo with their household goods. I also expect Boxigo to take responsibility for the negligence and address the issues related to their third-party storage partner.
