I was travelling on 10/11/19, sunday afternoon from memnagar to jantanagar at the 4 no. Bus. The ticket costs ₹20 from memnagar to jantanagar as well as memnagar to shiv shakti. While getting off the bus, i missed my jantanagar station and got off at the next station i. E. Shiv shakti. Even though the ticket charges for both the stations were same, i was charged with a fine of ₹42. I understood the problem and cooperate and paid the fine. The issue is that i was not given any receipt for the fine that i paid. I am an 18 year old girl and this was the first time i paid a fine. They charged the fine readily by immediately calling me back but they didn't even talk about the receipt. Next day, when i asked about the receipt, the man who sits in the ticket counter immideately hesitated in denial and told me to talk to the security guard. The security guard started hesitating and saying "you didn't take the fine yesterday. We can't give you today." "whatever happened yesterday, it happened. You could have stopped and asked for the fine." i told them that it was their responsibility to give me a receipt if they are fining me.
The issue is not about the amount of money. I did a mistake and i paid for it. But it is their sole purpose that if they are fining me then they should give a receipt. They could readily shout and stop us in middle of the station to pay the fine but they just let the receipt go. How is this fair to me? Was this information helpful? |
