My father was admitted to care hospital related to covid treatment. over the 3 days hospitalization in care, he was charged 8, 000/day only for PPE Kits.
As per the govt regulations, the amount recommended is 2k/day but they are charging excess on that.
But the catch here is, if a hospital is serving 100 patients on a day basis it is charging all the patients 8k/day for PPE kits. But in reality all the patients would have same staff around 5 doctors + 20 support staff which will be shared among all patients.
Then why each patient should spend for each PPE kit, if the staff is shared among all patients?
In this way, daily 8k x 100 = 8, 00, 000 would be charged from all patients but only less than 50k would be spent on them in actual.
