Dear Sir/Madam,
I visited the Cashify Store at Butler Plaza, Bareilly (U.P.) – 243005 on 30 May 2026 to sell my mobile phone. After inspecting my device, the store representative informed me that the buyback value of my phone was ₹3, 312.
The next day, after taking a backup of my data, I returned to the store to complete the sale. At that time, the store representative informed me that the quoted value of ₹3, 312 included a ₹500 coupon amount and that I would be required to purchase a product from the store using that coupon at the same time. He further stated that if I did not purchase any product, the store would not proceed with buying your phone.
Since I was unaware of the process and believed it to be a mandatory requirement, I agreed. Subsequently, I received the full amount of ₹3, 312 from Cashify directly into my bank account. However, I was separately required to pay ₹569 through the store’s QR code to purchase an ‘Ambrane adapter with cable’, product that I have to purchased. Copies of the relevant screenshots and transaction details are attached for your reference purposes.
Upon later reviewing the Cashify app and transaction details, I found no mention of any ₹500 coupon scheme or any mandatory purchase requirement linked to the sale of my phone. This leads me to believe that the store is using a misleading sales practice to increase its own product sales by compelling customers to purchase accessories unnecessarily.
I still possess the adapter in its original packaging and have not used it. Therefore, I request a full refund of ₹569 and appropriate action against the concerned store for this unfair and misleading practice.
If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be compelled to escalate the issue to the Consumer Forum and other relevant authorities.
I look forward to your prompt response and resolution.
Thank you.
Regards,
Prakhar Agarwal
