I am writing to bring to your kind attention a serious issue we are facing at the CGHS Polyclinic. My mother is a senior citizen and a diabetic patient. She was earlier prescribed Toujeo insulin injection by the physician at referred hospital and with regular administration, her sugar levels were well controlled.
However, recently a new physician changed her prescription to some other insulin, and the pharmacist informed us that Toujeo is not available and that this new insulin is a substitute. Unfortunately, after shifting to the new insulin, my mother’s health has deteriorated. At her age, such fluctuations are very risky.
There are additional concerns that are making it extremely difficult for patients, especially elderly ones like my parents:
Non‑availability of prescribed medication (Toujeo insulin) despite it being earlier provided.
Frequent change of physicians – every time a new physician comes, the treatment plan changes, causing confusion and instability in care.
Only one physician is available for a very large number of patients, forcing everyone to queue up from as early as 5:00 AM.
Repeated portal and network issues, which further delay consultation and medicine distribution.
My parents are very old and it is extremely difficult for them to stand in long queues and face such uncertainty in treatment.
I humbly request you to kindly:
Ensure the availability of Toujeo insulin or the exact prescribed medication,
Provide continuity in physician care so that treatment plans remain consistent, and
Address the shortage of doctors and technical issues that are causing unnecessary suffering to senior citizens.
Please look into this matter urgently so that patients do not suffer any further.
